SS 317 Hydraulic Type Fittings refers to the lower carbon content to allow for greater corrosion protection when welding. Stainless Steel 317 Forged Hydraulic Fittings contains molybdenum, where this addition increases general corrosion resistance, improves resistance to pitting from chloride ion solutions, and provides increased strength at elevated temperatures. Stainless Steel 317 Hydraulic Forged Fittings is molybdenum – bearing austenitic stainless steels which is more resistant to general corrosion and pitting / crevice corrosion than the conventional chromium – nickel austenitic stainless steels.
317 Stainless Steel Hydraulic Fittings also offer higher creep, stress-to-rupture and tensile strength at elevated temperature. 317 Stainless Steel Hydraulic Type Fittings containing 3 % to 4 % molybdenum are preferred to which contain 2 % to 3 % molybdenum in applications requiring enhanced pitting and general corrosion resistance.
317 Stainless Steel Forged Hydraulic Fittings with higher molybdenum or molybdenum plus nitrogen content which provide even greater resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion a general corrosion are also available in flat – rolled products. In addition to excellent corrosion resistance and strength properties, SS 317 Hydraulic Fittings also provides the excellent fabricability and formability. Nitrogen in SS 317 Hydraulic Type Fittings provides higher tensile and tensile yield strength without diminishing ductility, corrosion resistance, or nonmagnetic properties.
