However, welded Stainless Steel 321H Nipple must never be used in highly oxidizing environments as it is liable to ‘Knife-line’ attack. Characterized by high corrosion resistance in general atmospheric corrosive environments, SS 321 Hexagon Reducing Nipple exhibits excellent resistance to most oxidizing agents. This heat resistant grade of SS 321H Hexagon Nipple has a maximum dry air service temperature of 850 º C.

Like other austenitic stainless steels, Alloy 321 One End Threaded Nipple works harden quickly and may require annealing after severe forming. Alloy 321H Both End Threaded Nipple is stabilized against weld heat affected zone (HAZ) inter-granular corrosion. The titanium in this 321 Stainless Steel Nipple forms insoluble and stable carbide, which ties up all the carbon in the alloy and therefore prevents it from precipitating as chromium carbides.

Our 321H Stainless Steel Nipple is readily welded by most standard processes and is very ductile and forms easily. This Grade 321 Concentric Swaged Nipple must be water quenched or fully annealed after working to re-attain maximum corrosion resistance.
